Lily Pad Swim School
Our learn-to-swim program is adapted from a proven curriculum that has taught hundreds of thousands of children how to swim. Our state-of-the-art pool facility is unparalleled in Las Cruces. We offer two separate indoor heated pools (89º), top quality air and water filtration systems, an enclosed observation room for parents, indoor showers and a large spacious changing area. Our pools were designed with swimming instruction in mind. We offer 30 feet of safe teaching steps, shallow waters at 3-1/2 feet for beginners and 7 feet for advanced swimmers.
Our program divides children by age and then skill. Our 5 skill levels (Parent-child, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate, Advanced) are designed to build confidence in the water, teach safety skills and teach progression swim skills. Our parent-child and beginner classes are for children with little or no swim skills. Class will focus on building comfort in the water as well as teach basic, beginning swim skills. Our intermediate to advanced classes work on the refinement of technical skills as well as the endurance aspect of swimming. At the end of the program students should be able to perform the 4 swim styles with technical refinement as well as understanding safety and survival techniques.
Each child has their mom or dad in the water with them while our trained teachers lead the parents in song and movement. Warm water creates a wonderful environment for parent/child interaction plus provides special social opportunities for both parents and children.

Beginner classes are for children with little or no swim skills. Safety skills are our prime focus followed by the introduction of basic swimming skills – back floats, submersions, climbing out of the pool, kicking, arms (stroke development for the older students) and independence in the water.
(3 Years & up)
Intermediate classes are for students that can move short distances independently in the water. Our classes give necessary experience to the student to refine basic skills, increase distance and learn independent breathing. We focus on building strength and confidence in the water.
(4 Years & up)
Advanced/Intermediate classes continue to build endurance, confidence and introduce and develop proficiency in the four main swim strokes. Class emphasis is on specific technical development of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly strokes.
(4 Years & up)
Advanced classes continue to build endurance, confidence and develop proficiency in the four main swim strokes. Class emphasis is on specific technical development of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly strokes.
